Having curly hair has its perks as well as its downfalls. One of the downfalls is having frizzy hair where it doesn’t even form a beautiful curl that, deep down inside, you know you have. Because of this, I was super excited to see that I had received the Kerastase Curl Ideal Cleansing Conditioner and Oleo-Curl Cream in my Spirit VoxBox. I didn’t get to try out the product until a week ago. I used it once but I think that is all I need for this review, which could also be a first impressions.
Like I mentioned above, I was super excited to test out these two products, I could already picture myself with beautiful curls. I decided to try it out the night before going to work because, if this product worked, I wanted to sport my beautiful curls in public.
I typically use shampoo and conditioner when I shower so it was kind of weird to only be using a cleansing conditioner. I poured a good amount of the product on my hand, but when I applied to my hair, it did not disperse so I applied more of the product. This product didn’t make suds but that is probably because it’s a conditioner. I really didn’t like it because I need to be able to disperse that product throughout my hair so I can feel like I’m really cleaning it.
Once I got out of the shower, I applied the curl cream and I was hoping this would help my hair get smoother so that I could comb it out. I was wrong, I had the hardest time coming out my hair that time!!!! Had I not had work the next day, I would have given up and thrown my hair in a bun.
I was kind of convinced that this would not be the product for me but I was still kind of hopeful that I would have nice curls when my hair dried, I was wrong!! If anything, the next day my hair was not only frizzier than before but I also felt like my scalp was oily as if I had never washed my hair.
Overall, this product is a big no for me!! It didn’t make my hair look any better and combing it out was torture. While it was not for me and I would really not recommend it at all, I looked for reviews and a lot of people like it. There’s also a good amount of people that had the same sad results as I did. The cleansing conditioner itself retails at $48, which is pretty expensive. Like I said, I would not recommend it, especially at that price, but maybe if you get a sample, it might actually work for you.
Have you tried the Karastase Curl Ideal line? What are your thoughts on these products?
