Introduction | Healthy Me

Hello!!

For a while now I have been trying to lose weight and get a much healthier lifestyle but it’s been a bit tricky for me.  Because of that I have decided to blog about my health journey every other Monday because I think it would help me stick to this lifestyle change and it might also help someone out there.

Health Me: Introduction
Today I’ll just be introducing you to my health journey so far.

I have always been a chubby child, ever since I was 7 years old. When I became a teenager I was still chubby and my family would always talk about.  Actually now that I look back, I don’t think I was actually that fat but all my family’s comments gave me that idea.  I would also like to add that my family is not mean, I guess they just don’t realize that things like that hurt people’s feelings.

When I was 17 I weighed about 140 lbs.  I also met my boyfriend at that age.  We would go out all the time and basically just eat junk food.  I was also more independent at this time since I could drive and I had money of my own so I would love to eat out.  Slowly I started gaining weight.  When I started college I was at 160 lbs.  When I saw this weight I decided to get on Weight Watchers and I lost about 30 pounds but after I stopped the program I gained it all back and some more.

Fast forward to today and I weight 197 lbs.  I honestly hate that I weigh so much and sometimes I don’t even feel like myself anymore.  Because of this I have decided to take action and start a healthy lifestyle! I am kinda of nervous to talk about this stuff but it will probably help me out a lot to write about it.

Excuse the bad quality picture but I just realized I don’t take much pictures of myself that are full body.

  1. It’s awesome that you want to make a positive change in your life! Just remember though, you’re absolutely beautiful the way you are. God created each of his children uniquely, wonderfully, and artfully. You are a masterpiece in His eyes! Can’t wait to read all your future updates on this journey.

  2. You can totally do it! I think starting small is a great way to get going. I NEVER used to go to the gym. Then I started to make myself go once a week, then twice…and I actually eventually started to like it once I got the hang of things. Also, I think it’s great that you’re trying to work towards a healthy lifestyle, but remember that you’re beautiful just the way you are.

    • Thank you!! 🙂 I recently started taking walks on Mondays and I love it!! I think starting slow is going to work for me because I will not feel overwhelmed. Thanks for reading! 🙂

  3. Very cute! I know you can do it. I just started college and I go to the gym for 4-6hrs a week…nothing crazy. I do a lot of weight lifting, so when I gained some weight…even while working out and eating moderately healthy..I was like why. But my clothes have recently started fitting a lot looser..AND I fit into a pair of jeans that were a bit too snug at the beginning of the school year!! On my way rn to the gym! You can do it ❤ and I can't wait to see your journey

  4. You got this girl!! I am currently in the process of losing weight too! We can totally motivate and help each other! That is why I love blogging so much because everyone is so encouraging! You are gorgeous and I know you can do it! The biggest things I have learned are to take it slow. Don’t rush weight-loss because it won’t stick if you do. It has to be a lifestyle change and just make small changes every day. I have found eating every 4 hours (a small meal or snack) really helps control my cravings. I set timers to make sure I eat something every 4 hours. This way I don’t overeat. I also started by working out for just 15 minutes a day 3x/week. I just walked. I slowly upped my time and added in strength training. I now look forward to my workout 6x/week. Note: this has been a slow process. I am continuing to add workouts. Also, make sure you switch up your routines because then you won’t get bored and you will call on more muscle. I workout with Youtube videos too because they are fun and really there is a workout for everyone. Also, don’t weigh yourself everyday. I weigh myself at the beginning of every month. You can do it more or less frequently, just don’t become obsessed with numbers. You will get discouraged. Hope this helped some haha! Again, you can do it!

  5. Good luck! My family is the same way. According to them, if you weigh more than 120, you’re fat and any less you have a eating disorder. It really gives you a complex and I felt like i didn’t get to enjoy being thin because i always thought i was fat. Dont give up! And don’t get obsessed about numbers because its about what weight makes you feel confident, not what weight classifies you as thin!
